
Roland DG Unveils Latest Lineup at Italian Racing Circuit

On January 21, 2025, Roland DG hosted the “Roland DG Grand Print” event at Italy’s Monza Circuit, a venue that also serves as the stage for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix. The event featured the global debut of Roland DG’s latest product lineup, marking the official announcement of their worldwide availability. President Tanabe took the stage to introduce the new models to European sales partners and media representatives.
Revamped flagship
Organized in collaboration with Roland DG’s European subsidiary, the event welcomed 193 dealers from across Europe and Africa and 30 media representatives from 13 countries. Also attending were partners such as the BWT Alpine Formula One Team. The program included product demonstrations, panel discussions, and interactive activities inspired by Formula 1, highlighting the exceptional speed and quality of the new products.
The centerpiece was the TrueVIS XP-640, Roland DG’s fastest inkjet printer to date. Featuring dual newly developed printheads, it delivers high-quality output at 15.2 m2/h. The addition of a new red ink significantly expands the color gamut, while compliance with stringent chemical emission standards makes it ideal for indoor graphics.
Also unveiled at the event was the TY-300, a DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer equipped with print-and-cut function. The TY-300 allows users to create custom T-shirts and sportswear with a simple process after printing on a special film. Combining vivid color expression, high detail accuracy, and productivity, the TY-300 helps apparel businesses enhance efficiency and add value to their offerings.

Accelerating business growth
The event began with a speech by President Tanabe. “Like the F1 cars racing through the Monza Circuit, our innovative digital solutions bring excitement and surprise to the market. Our mission is not just to provide inkjet printers but to drive digital transformation across industries.” He also called for collaboration, stating, “Creating new business opportunities requires your partnership.
Following him, Andrew Oransky, Director of Sales, spoke about the company’s growth strategy. “Our business is evolving rapidly, expanding into new areas. By strengthening our focus on services, software, and emerging markets, we aim to offer even more solutions to support our users’ success,” he said.

Emphasizing speed at the “Temple of Speed”
Monza Circuit, known as the “Temple of Speed,” provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the XP-640’s high-speed, precision printing capabilities — echoing the performance of F1 machines on the track. Attendees were impressed by the XP-640’s output speed, which demonstrated its ability to produce banners, outdoor signage, vehicle graphics, and wallpaper with both speed and precision.
The BWT Alpine Formula One Team, a long-time partner of Roland DG, also took the stage to discuss their collaboration. “For a team with multiple partners, F1 machine graphics are crucial,” they stated. “By using print-and-cut sheets created with Roland DG printers, we can decorate cars faster than with traditional paint, reducing weight and potentially improving lap times. This partnership is becoming increasingly important.”
As a special circuit-exclusive activity, the event featured a “Pit Stop Challenge,” a hands-on experience inspired by F1 pit stops. Participants joined F1 teams named after Roland DG’s product lineup, competing in tire changes, component installation, and aerodynamic checks. The realistic race-like challenge captivated attendees, and the winning team received exclusive BWT Alpine Formula One Team merchandise.
