Roland DG and Lithuanian joint venture, DG DIMENSE (DGD), sponsored the XXIII International Festival Operetta at Kaunas Castle, held in July 2024. Chisato Takahashi, who participated as a volunteer at the festival, later joined DGD as an intern and has now become a full-time employee. We spoke with her about her journey in Lithuania, her encounter with DGD, and her new role.
Discovering DG DIMENSE
Takahashi first came across DGD in May 2024 when she learned about a call for festival volunteers. Then a senior university student, she decided to participate, aspiring to serve as a bridge between Japan and Lithuania. “I had already grown accustomed to life in Lithuania and developed a fondness for the country, so I saw this as an opportunity to contribute,” she said.
At the festival, Roland DG set up a booth to bring Japan closer to the Lithuanian audience by selling original merchandise featuring designs inspired by the opera Madame Butterfly. As a volunteer, Takahashi designed posters and flyers for the booth and assisted in sales on the event day. She actively promoted the merchandise to passersby and played a key role in smooth booth operations by quickly bonding with fellow volunteers.

A DGD employee who worked with her at the booth recalled, “Takahashi was quick to notice when foot traffic was low and proactively suggested distributing flyers in busier areas. Her initiative and enthusiasm were truly impressive.”

Studying abroad in Lithuania
Takahashi first came to Lithuania for her university studies. After graduating from high school in Japan, she enrolled at Mykolas Romeris University in September 2020. Her initial years were affected by COVID-19 restrictions, but as they eased, she expanded her activities by taking part-time jobs at restaurants, studying abroad in Turkey for six months, and connecting with many people.
During her third year, she discovered her passion for writing while working on her thesis preparation. This realization led her to an internship at a travel agency where she wrote blog articles. “Receiving positive feedback on my writing boosted my confidence and helped me smoothly complete my graduation thesis,” she recalled. This experience also led her to discover that a career where she could leverage her ability to express herself through writing might be the right path for her.

Internship success leading to full-time employment
After graduating in June 2024, Takahashi wanted to continue living in Lithuania while working in a role connected to Japan. She reached out to the DGD employees she had met at the music festival and secured an internship which began in October. “I already felt a connection to the company from the festival, and I believed I could apply my marketing knowledge from university,” she said.
During her internship, Takahashi took on diverse tasks, including managing social media, distributing the internal newsletter, photography, and interpretation. She appreciated the close-knit nature of the DGD team, saying, “There are colleagues of my age and I really enjoy working here.”
In December, she assisted with product demonstrations and business meetings in Milan, Italy, where her contributions were so highly regarded that the local team jokingly said, “We wish we could keep her here!” Despite the high praise, Takahashi remains focused on improving. “I’m still learning how best to communicate about our products and company,” she said.
Recognizing her contributions and dedication, DGD decided to offer her a full-time position starting in February 2025.
A Japanese colleague at DGD noted, “Takahashi quickly built strong relationships with the team and actively visited different departments to learn about the company and its products. She is applying her marketing expertise effectively in customer engagement and content creation, delivering excellent results. I believe we’ll see her shine even more in the future.”
As she deepens her understanding of Roland DG Group, Takahashi’s aspirations have grown beyond Japan and Lithuania. “I realized this company connects with many countries, not just Japan and Lithuania. I want to continue learning so I can effectively communicate the appeal of our products and company worldwide,” she shared.
DGD became part of the Roland DG Group in 2023. With her passion and skills, we look forward to seeing Takahashi share DGD’s unique solutions with the world from Lithuania.
