Supporting Your Favorite Players at the Jubilo Iwata Home Game Event

10/23/2024 Corporate Activities, Digital Printing

Roland DG supported Jubilo Iwata by running a booth where fans could create personalized bookmarks during the Jubilo Iwata vs. Sanfrecce Hiroshima match (Hamamatsu Photonics Match) on October 6 at Yamaha Stadium, Iwata, Shizuoka.

How the collaboration began

The collaboration began when we supported a special event for Jubilo Iwata in May (click here for event details). After the event, JUBILO CO., LTD. reached out to us about collaborating again with us, which led to the planning of this event. Roland DG staff demonstrated our products to Jubilo and proposed ideas based on what we excel at and what we can offer. Jubilo also provided suggestions to help us create content that would satisfy their soccer team supporters.

The theme of this event was “Enjoying something with Family and Jubilo in Autumn.” We proposed “Enjoying Reading in Autumn" by allowing supporters to select photos of their favorite players and add their names to create original bookmarks. The bookmarks were made from acrylic, offering more durability compared to paper bookmarks. Using our UV printer, which allows high-quality printing on a variety of materials, we helped fans support their favorite players in a unique way.

Content that resonated with supporters

The event took place over four hours, from the opening of the stadium gates until kickoff. Our mission was to print names on 300 bookmarks. Anticipating our booth to be one of the most popular, Jubilo provided us with a prime location in the event square. Thanks to pre-event announcements on Jubilo Iwata’s official website and social media, a line of supporters had already formed 30 minutes before the gates opened.

We prepared bookmarks with photos of 30 different players in advance. At the booth, fans could choose their favorite player, write the name they wanted printed, and watch the name being printed on the spot using our BD-8 desktop flatbed UV printer. Features such as being able to choose your favorite player, personalizing the bookmark with your name, and seeing the printing process made this a killer concept. All 300 bookmarks were reserved within two hours of the gates opening.
