On August 15 and 16, Roland DG hosted a workplace tour event, “Roland DG Family Day.” Employees and their families were invited to tour the new Head Office, which commenced operations in November 2023, to introduce the workplace environment and showcase our products. Over 400 people attended over the two days.

Over 400 employees and families gather at the new headquarters

This was the first time we hosted a workplace tour with the aim of introducing employees’ work environments and products to their families. Held during the Obon holiday season, many families were able to attend. Employees guided their families through the pre-set tour route, which included the new Head Office building and the Miyakoda office, where product development and production technologies are centered, to visit workspaces and meeting rooms.

During the tour, employees introduced their families to various workspaces, including free-address seating areas, zones designed for focused individual tasks, and creative spaces where ideas are generated in a relaxed atmosphere. Attendees had the chance to experience the latest equipment and see how employees can choose the most suitable work environment to match their tasks.

Delivering the joy of creation through hands-on experience with our products

Since Roland DG’s products are primarily designed for business use, opportunities to see the products in action or interact with them in everyday life are limited. For this reason, we created hands-on experience corners along the tour routes in both the Head Office and Miyakoda office, where families could create personalized goods using our products.

At the Head Office, families used the photo impact printer to personalize metal rulers with names. At the Miyakoda office, they made personalized umbrella markers using the laser decorator. Additionally, families enjoyed making coasters and stickers using inkjet printers to print geometric graphics they generated on-site using a dedicated system.

Our products make it easy for anyone to enjoy the creative process. Through the creation of personalized goods, we conveyed the joy of making something unique, while allowing participants to experience our company’s purpose of “empowering creativity and excitement worldwide.” Children especially enjoyed making matching goods for their siblings or creating items for family members who couldn’t attend, making it a fun and interactive opportunity to engage with our technology.

A special opportunity to learn about the workplace and deepen understanding of the company

The new Head Office not only emphasizes employee comfort but is also prepared for potential disasters such as the Nankai Trough earthquake, with the building’s seismic resilience exceeding the national standard by 1.5 times. This ensures a safe and comfortable working environment for our employees. During the tour, employees guided their families through the offices and explained the unique features, helping their families gain a deeper understanding of the work environment and fostering a sense of reassurance.

Additionally, as employees introduced their daily work to their families, it helped deepen the families’ understanding of the company’s products and business, making the company feel closer to them. The tour provided a valuable opportunity for employees and their families to bond and share a sense of pride and affection for Roland DG.
