Ambassador Tetsu Ozaki from the Embassy of Japan in Lithuania visited the Roland DG head office on March 19, 2024. Roland DG established the joint venture DG DIMENSE in Lithuania in October 2023. As our employees became the first business expatriates in the country, the ambassador visited us to express gratitude.
Ambassador’s meeting with Roland DG executives and tour of new head office building
President Tanabe and executives welcomed Ambassador Ozaki, followed by a tour of the new head office building, which commenced operations in November 2023. At the entrance gallery, a large variety of solutions possible with Roland DG’s products and technologies are showcased, along with an exhibition commemorating the establishment of DG DIMENSE. The distinctive working areas offering views of Hamamatsu’s natural environment are also evident. Ambassador Ozaki commented, “The spaciousness and abundant use of wood made me feel inspired, stimulating my imagination.”
Inspection of production sites and product demonstration
We also guided the ambassador to the Miyakoda Office, where the development and manufacturing departments are located. We displayed Roland DG’s proprietary production system called D-Shop and demonstrated product features, conveying the joy of manufacturing that we cherish. Furthermore, we presented the ambassador with an original-designed bottle and notebook, praying for the prosperity of both Japan and Lithuania. The designs were created by our employee and printed using the VersaOBJECT MO-240 UV flatbed printer, which was launched in January and supports cylindrical materials.
Bridging Japan and Lithuania
Since assuming office in October 2021, Ambassador Ozaki has been focusing on attracting Japanese companies to Lithuania. He expressed gratitude for Roland DG’s expansion into Lithuania and sought cooperation in further fostering friendly relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador emphasized the significance of visiting actual manufacturing sites, stating, “You cannot understand a company without visiting their location. I saw it in Lithuania as well, but I really wanted to see it at the head office.”
President Tanabe remarked, “By showcasing the excellence of Japanese technology through our expansion into Lithuania, we hope to serve as a bridge between the two countries.” He also expressed his determination by saying, “By enhancing the presence of DIMENSE in the interior decoration market, we also want to contribute to Lithuania’s appeal.”
The ambassador pointed out, “Japanese products are recognized worldwide for their excellence in technology, but Japanese people are not good at going abroad and conveying Japan’s strengths.” He expressed his hope for Roland DG to “spread its wings worldwide as a representative Japanese company, as it is doing manufacturing in a very unique way.”
