Roland DG Launches Lower-cost UV-LED Flatbed Printer in North American Market to Meet Growing Demand

EU-1000MF

Hamamatsu, Japan, June 20, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, today announced the launch of the EU-1000MF large format UV-LED flatbed printer in North America.

The EU-1000MF offers high-quality printing and unmatched support at a great price and productivity level that will appeal to a wide range of customers. It is capable of beautiful printing on a wide range of materials up to 95mm (3.74”) thick for a large variety of applications, including sign graphics, event and store displays, décor, and small-lot, high-mix custom goods that can greatly expand customers’ print businesses.

Tony Miller, President, Global Sales and Marketing Division, said, “The EU-1000MF was launched in Southeast Asia in July 2021. Since then, we have expanded our sales area to Central and South America and Europe, while enhancing the printer’s functions and lineup, and have received enthusiastic recognition as a product with an excellent combination of image quality, productivity and price. By expanding the sales area of the EU-1000MF to North America, which is our second largest market, we intend to create new opportunities to assist our customers in growing their businesses and to increase sales.”

The EU-1000MF is available in two models, 4-color CMYK or 6-color CMYK, White and Gloss, with printheads in a staggered array for printing up to 27.6m2/h in 720 x 600 dpi CMYK mode and enabling it to handle approximately nine rigid 4’ x 8’ (1,220 x 2,440 mm) boards per hour for indoor decoration and display. The UV inks are cured instantly, making prints fast-drying and eliminating the need for post-printing drying. The ability to print directly onto a variety of materials such as acrylic, PETG, PVC, foam, PC, wood, and aluminum composite boards eliminates the need to print on roll media and then mount on a board, further reducing post-processing time and costs.

The Variable Dot Printing Technology, which uses different sizes of ink droplets with high precision and powerful UV-LED lamps that cure and fix the ejected ink in a short time enables the reproduction of small text, gradations, and other fine details in high definition.

The EU-1000MF also offers a high degree of safety. The four emergency stop switches and a safety sensor that stops the printer to protect the operator have been upgraded to a higher safety level. The UV inks which were designed especially for the EU-1000MF are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low VOCs, making them safe for indoor applications.

In addition, VersaWorks 6 RIP Software, which is designed to maximize the characteristics of the printer and ink, comes standard with the printer. Roland DG’s acclaimed True Rich Color print setting makes it possible to achieve a higher level of output quality by combining both “vividness” and “naturalness” in a single print job. The software also offers a variety of functions to improve the efficiency of customers’ operations, such as a special color plate generation function that enables the creation of White and Gloss layer data with a single button. VersaWorks 6 will be available free of charge from July 17 to customers who already use the EU-1000MF outside of North America as well.

Miller added, “Roland DG will continue to contribute to the development of the digital printing market through attractive solutions that enhance our customers' creativity and businesses.”
