DIMENSE Output Earns China's GB Standard for Value-Added Interior Decoration

Hamamatsu, Japan, April 2, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of digital devices including wide-format inkjet printers, is pleased to announce that the unique, three-dimensional embossed printing of DIMENSE output has acquired the GB standard, a Chinese national standard that aims to meet the demands of human health, life, property safety and national security.

1. GB 18585-2001 “Indoor decorating and refurbishing materials - Limit of harmful substances of wallpapers.”
2. GB 8624-2012 “Classification for burning behavior of building materials and products” - B1 (B-s1, d0, t0).

The DIMENSE system consists of an inkjet printer combined with special media that has the property of foaming when heated, a structured ink to control foaming, and CMYK water-based ink that is safe for use indoors. After printing, the media is heated by the printer’s on-board heater which causes areas not coated with structured ink to foam up to 1.5 mm thick, faithfully realizing the envisioned textured design. This innovative solution enables on-demand output of wallpaper and other graphics with a three-dimensional presence.
