Roland DG Launches New Services to Support Efficient Media Management and Repeat Printing Operations

Hamamatsu, Japan, January 11, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, announced two new services for Media Inventory Management and VersaWorks Job Setting Backup to support stress-free printing operations.

1. Media Inventory Management*¹
When a printing job is complete, the printer will automatically print a barcode on the media containing the profile and print settings with the remaining media quantity. This information is uploaded to the cloud, making it possible to centrally manage all remaining media stock. The printed barcode is read when the media is loaded and the media-specific setting conditions are automatically relayed to the printer, ensuring stress-free and optimal output at all times.

2. VersaWorks Job Setting Backup
The printing information of each print job in VersaWorks 6, the RIP software that comes standard with Roland DG inkjet printers, is automatically backed up to the cloud. This feature allows repeat jobs to be handled accurately and quickly, ensuring profile and printer settings remain the same each time.

Media Inventory Management is available with the Roland DG Connect Premium Plan, and Automatic Backup of Output Setting Date is available with the Premium and Professional Plans.
